    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is resolved - for anyone else that may have an issue I didn't check my syntax; in conf t I should have been using :&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;line &lt;STRONG&gt;vty&lt;/STRONG&gt; 0 15&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;and then apply the access-class&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So, layer 8 error &lt;SPAN __jive_emoticon_name="happy" __jive_macro_name="emoticon" class="jive_macro jive_emote" src="https://community.cisco.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif"&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Cheers&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <title>VTY Access List problems</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am currently setting up a few switches and one configuration point is to secure acccess via telnet from only certain IP's&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have created the access list as shown below :&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;access-list 20 permit 192.168.1.0&amp;nbsp; 0.0.0.255 &lt;BR /&gt;access-list 20 permit 10.44.1.2&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And sh line shows 0 - 15 VTY lines&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And then apply this using the syntax below :&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;en&lt;BR /&gt;conf t&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;line 0 15&lt;BR /&gt;access-class 20 in&lt;BR /&gt;end&lt;BR /&gt;wr&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This then results in the below output :&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;switch1#sh run | beg line vty&lt;BR /&gt;line vty 0 4&lt;BR /&gt; access-class 20 in&lt;BR /&gt; password 7 xxx&lt;BR /&gt;line vty 5 14&lt;BR /&gt; access-class 20 in&lt;BR /&gt; password xxx&lt;BR /&gt;line vty 15&lt;BR /&gt; password xxx&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As you can see it only appears that 0 4, then 5 - 14 are protected and line 15 does not have the applicable access list applied&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help at all would be greatly appriciated&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Cheers&lt;/P&gt;</description>
