Hello,

I've just installed the FMW virtual appliance running on VMware. After adding a device (IPS Firepower software of a ASA5525-X) to be managed, it said licenses are "unlicensed". All licenses options are greyed.

Before this migration, my IPS software contains the Protection, Control, URL and Malware licenses. It works correctly. I can manage it via ASDM.

I also submitted the FMC license, it said it didn't need to install. My licenses are classical. I don't have a smart account.

Now, I lost some features when using FMC to manage the IPS.

Can someone tell me why I lost the licenses? Please show me how to correct this issue.

If no one replies, I think you can safely email licensing@cisco.com and they'll help you.

thank you for your response.

I solve the issue by rehosting the licenses to FMC.

Now I'm happy to manage my IPS again.
