If there is one with a Privilege of Service, logoff and login again with that user account.

Have you ever replaced any h/w on this sensor? Have you looked for any related errors in the /usr/cids/idsRoot/log/main.log (from service account)?

You may also want to run "show version" from the cisco account, and verify that it showing the sensor as an IDS-4235 sensor.

There are also older IDS-4230 sensors that are Not supported by version 5.0.

If your sensor is an IDS-4230 and not an IDS-4235 then you will not be able to upgrade to 5.0.

Marco
