We have PIX 535 in A/A mode. Now in admin context mode CPU utilization was 99%.

All of a sudden PIX got rebooted.

After that it stabilizes to 2%.

Can anybody tell why it might have happened?

Secondly is it recommended to reboot PIX if we observer high CPU utilization.

Can we get any supported doc stating reboot of PIX if CPU utilization go high

Vaishali

I had some issues with 7.0 similar to the ones you are seeing but with a pix515e. I thought it was a bug in the code (and I was probably right). I upgraded to 7.2 and it went away.

-brad

www.ccbootcamp.com

(please rate the post if this helps!)

Apart of a bug it could also be caused also by heavy logging.

How does look your logging setup ?

Do you log on an external syslog server ?

If yes at witch logging level.. info, warn etc.

sincerely

Patrick
