Pix Clear Access-list

hi all,

can any one help with the diff. between these two pix commands

pix(config)# clear access-list

pix(config)# clear configure access-list

all cisco documentations says that the second command clear the acl from the running config, so if i do copy run start it will not come back next boot and if reload without saving it will come back, same thing to clear access-list commmad???

so plz help me

Hi,

1).Clear configure access-list will delete ALL access-lists in the running configuration.

2).Clear access-list is used to clear access-list counter.

So if you want to remove all access list, you need to use Clear configure access-list.
