Hi All,

Local users works fine, but we need to use external authentication, our option is only RADIUS or LDAP (=> Windows AD).

RADIUS users can loging to our ND but get only read-only access !? same users/accounts from the same source can login to the old DCNM or directly to the MDS switchecs with correct rights.

LDAP (=> Windows AD) not woriking at all, no matter how we modify the config parameters. (error message: Unable to validate provider. Please check your configuration.)
Applications from other vendors using LDAP works fine in our environment.

Thanks in advance for your advice.
/David

For testing, add a different group for READ and ADMIN in LDAP (add test user test-read to the READ Group and test-admin to the ADMIN Group), then test it.

I have the same problem but with version 3.2.2f,

In this case, to simplify, I am using LDAP port 389 connection. I have created a user in an OU where users have administrator permissions over the domain.

In the Hostname section, I have entered: MyServer.mydomain.com, in Base DN: DC=mydomain,DC=com and in Bind DN: CN=SVC_CISCO-MDS,OU=Service Accounts,OU=Servers,DC=mydomain,DC=com, where SVC_CISCO-MDS is the new user account created.

In Key, I entered the password for the user created, without LDAP Attribute, SSL Disabled, and Filter Type Default.

The user for validation is my nominal domain user that I use for these purposes. I tried with user@domain and domain\user.

The error is the same: Unable to validate provider. Please check your configuration.

I don't know if the data I entered corresponds to what the application expects. I also haven't found any logs to get more information about this.

Hi,
No, the problem is not solved, currently we use local accounts as workaround.
Thx

In my case it works. I have set LDAP Attribute to "memberOf" and I specified the OU in the Base DN (not sure if this is really necessary). For validation, I only set the user without domain.
