Hi all,

I'm trying MPE in our Lab with VMware workstation and it works fine (MPE provided from Cisco).

As we'd like to keep it running, we have planned to migrate it to an VMware Esx environnement. So I'm using VMware Converter to import the vmdk image in our ESX server. All is fine, but when I start the server after that, I have a Grub error:

" Grub loading, please wait

Error 18 "

Does someone know why it works on Worstation and not ESX ?

Thx for your help

Fabian

No, I didn't solve it. And seems to be impossible. It's related to the geometry of the HDD (IDE with hardware, and SCSI with ESX). But the new NFR with MPX 7.0 is supported with Vmware 😛

Just have to wait for it.

Fabian

I removed all VMWare tools.

Secondly. I made a proccedure as

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=1881&sliceId=1&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&dialogID=22922690&stateId=1%200%2022926248

thirdly. I updated a demo-vmvare host for Workstation 6.x

And Finaly I converted a machine to ESX 3.0.1.

IT'S WORK!!!
