Rob,

Thanks, that did the trick. The customer is going to have to limit the recordings to 30 mins.

They have 6 call in numbers for these different recordings each day. Do you know how that will impact the hard drive, if they do each at max.?

Scott

This customer requires up to 20-30 minutes (or longer) of record time to record commodities/market reports that are changed daily.

When I go to the Unity registry and try to change the settings. The reboot does not keep those settings.

in Unity SA you can create a new Class Of Service and under greetings tab set Maximum greeting length, in seconds set to 1800. (30 min), Assign this new COS to the subsribers that need it.

This should do it.

Rob

actually, it failed.

The max greet time is 999. Within COS, when you go over to message, the max time is 1800.

I need the greet time increased.

In the registry for Unity, when you scroll down, you can see where the record time can be set to 1 hour. But for some reason, it is not applying to the greeting.

thots?

This is from the Cisco Unity Tools, Advanced Settings Tool.

*********************

Conversation - Set maximum recording time

By default the maximum recording time for any message or greeting is 20 minues (1,200,000 milliseconds). Some applicaitons have needs to go beyond this limit. The key to adjust this value can be found at:

HKLM\Software\Active Voice\MIU\1.0\Initalization

The key name is "Record Absolute Maximum Length". This value is stored in milliseconds and can go up to one hour (3,600,000 milliseconds)

*********************

The COS thing is a bit confusing if u don't read it twice. The value you read is the length of recording a subscriber can make.

What you want is to go to the subscriber's page, and select Messages.

Under "Taking messages from outside callers"

set Maximum message length to 3600 seconds (after you use the Advanced Settings Tool to set it to one hour)

H. M.
