Configuring Universal Client Mode on 877W

Hello,

I have a 877W with a c870-advsecurityk9-mz.124-4.T6 IOS.

And Id like to configure it in Universal Client Mode, I've seen in the doc that it's possible , but can't find any doc on how to do it.

When I go in "station-role" in the dot11 interface, I have only "root". If I have understood whet I've read, I need to put non-root here...

Do I need a other IOS for that ?

My goal is to connect a netgear WG302 to the cisco by wifi.

I need an ethernet and a wifi lan accessing internet but without contact between them.

And I want the WG302 to extend the wifi range...

I know it would be easily with a cisco AP, but my customer already has the WG302.

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem.

I used "Software Advisor" to find an IOS which support "Universal Client Mode" feature.

As you can see the result of my research:

IOS c850-advsecurityk9-mz.12.4-15.T1 should be a compatible release with my Cisco 851 and should support this functionality.

But, I can't configure â€œUniversal Client Modeâ€, â€œstation-role non-rootâ€ doesn't exist.

Is it normal?

Should I open a case?
