Hi,

is it possible to use the outdoor AIR-ANT2547V-N dual-band antenna with AIR-CAP1602e access-points, using a N-Type to RP-TNC converter?

We have a couple of 1602e AP and we need to go for outdoor coverage, and we were thinking about installing the AIR-ANT2547V-N atennas outside the building wile leaving the AP itself indoors. We cannot use the recomended AIR-ANT2544V4M-R because of its size and install location.

Best regards,

Tiago

I don't see why not, just make sure you account for the extra losses of the N/RP-TNC adapter when configuring the antenna gain on the AP.

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App

Thanks for you answer!

I've found this on the AP's datasheet: "Certified for use with antenna gains up to 6 dBi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)"

Could it be a problem that the AIR-ANT2547V-N has 7dBi in the 5Ghz band?

Gain (2400-2483 MHz)

4-dBi

Gain (5250-5875 MHz)

7-dBi
