topic 1500 Mesh over WAN in Wireless

I know that for lightweight APs to work across a WAN they have to be setup for REAP mode. Will 1500series mesh radios work over a WAN?

1500 does not support REAP or H-REAP modes. If you want to deploy 1500 over a WAN, the link must have enough capacity to pass all of your user traffic, lwapp control traffic, and have a latency less than 100ms between controller and AP.

HTH,

Rich

Keep in mind that REAP or HREAP is only required if the clients connecting to the AP require access to data that resides at the site where the AP's ethernet link is terminated. If this site has no direct internet access and all applications reside in a data center where the controller is deployed, there is no need to run REAP or HREAP mode. Richs' statement of the bandwidth and latency requirements still hold true either way.
