Can I use Prime Infrastructure to locate a MAC address when it comes on to our network?

Can I use Prime Infrastructure to locate a MAC address when it comes on to our network? My goal is to have an email notification of a certain MAC address when it associates to our WLAN. I don't want to sit and wait for it to show up - I would like PI to send me an email. Is that possible?

I don't believe PI can do an email alert for something customer like that. PI has customer alerts that can send email notification, but what you want, I don't believe is possible with PI.

Exactly! Prime Infrastructure can send reports and alarm notifications via SMTP email, but the MAC specific alarm via Email is not supported.

It may depend on which version of PI you're running.

I have a list of MACs that PI 2.0 e-mails me about when they appear on the air.

Here is the body of a recent e-mail notification.

"The following tracked client were detected on the network.

The client 'de:ad:be:ef:ca:fe' was detected on the network by the 'MTCLF1-LWAP9'('Root Area') access point on the 'WiSM-2' Controller.

To view or edit tracked client notification, go to Monitor/Operate > Clients and Users > Track Clients."

I set this up in the classic theme under Monitor>Clients and Users.
