I don't but if you are having problems, disabling/enabling the switchport will force the AP to reset as it uses inline power!

Alex,

Further to my post, i did a bit of research as i have used SNMP to reload routers from HP Openview after pushing configs to them using SNMP.

This is a bit of an assumption but it looks like the 1200 APs support the following command which you need to have running on a router to reload it using SNMP "snmp-server system-shutdown", plus of course you need to have RW community strings set.

From HP Openview the following used to work on routers so it may will work on an AP

"snmpset -c (rw_community_string) (device ip address) 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.9.9.0 integer 2"

I know you can do SNMP set from MRTG stats and other SNMP daemons but i'm afraid i only know the syntax from Openview

hi thkz for the info,

infact for AP350 and Ap1200 (both running Vxworks) looks fine, however, seems like its doesnt work on AP 1200 IOS, this is the error message

Error in packet.

Reason: (badValue) The value given has the wrong type or length.

Failed object: enterprises.9.2.9.9.0

any idea...?

Hi,

Maybe its a bug in the IOS? or not fully supported in your release.

Can you do a SNMP walk on the 1200 IOS and see if it has the full OID?
