there are two different commands to show the config

one has options, the other not

(Cisco Controller) >show running-config ?

(Cisco Controller) >show run-config ?

commands Display list of configured commands on WLC.

startup-commands Display list of configured startup commands on WLC.

no-ap Display running configuration of controller without AP configuration.
<cr> Display running configuration of controller.

I guess your difference is created that in the background "no-ap" is specified

which results in the controller config only , without the ap-configs

Cisco WLC Backup Configuration Method

Hi Guys,

I usually do the backup using GUI on Commands -> Upload File menu. I know this is also possible using CLI by issuing transfer upload. But recently I discovered it is possible issuing command show running-config on WLC's CLI. When I compared the content, they are different. The second one is more detail.

Actually, what is the difference between those two? From a glance, I can see the APs' config on the show running-config output. But is it the only difference?

Thank you.
