WLC power supply issue.

Hello,

We have Cisco WLC 5508 and obseved below status from WLC,

Power Supply 2................................... Present, Power Off, Fan On

What does it mean that power status is off but Fan is on ? Commonly the power is off and the Fan should be off too, I suspected.

If this status is normal or it means that it is hardware issue of the power supply?

Might be confusing but power supply 2 is off unless PS 1 goes offline. However, the fan is somewhat separate and I have seen the same. I can check a few we have tomorrow but I believe it's normal.

Power Supply 1................................... Present, OK
Power Supply 2................................... Present, OK

Is the power supply fully inserted? Is the switch on the power supply on? May be worth removing and re-inserting.

I am facing the exact same problem in one of our WLCs. Were you able to find a solution? Do you know what caused it?

I know this is a very old thread, but any information would be useful.

I replaced the power supply module (RMA) and the GUI is showing power supplies as healthy.
