The choices are:

1. The new APs get managed by the 3850 and the old APs get maaged by the WLC running 8.0.X; or

2. The 1240s get converted to Autonomous; or

3. Get another controller, like the 2504, for example.

AP1240 Series compatibility with WLC code 8.2.111

Hi Everyone,

I need advise on this one if anyone could come up with any suggestion.

We have remote sites (4-5) where we still have 1242 series APs. Recently I upgraded my controller to WLC 8.2 code and those APs are not coming live as they are stuck in "Downloading...".

In link below, Cisco says 1240 series are not supoorted anymore.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn82mr1.html#pgfId-1456942

Now, my question is there any solution for this one or that's it. We need new APs for remote sites.

On the other hand, I also have Cisco 3850 WLC enabled Cisco switch, so can I use Cisco 3850 for those APs. If yes, then please share any link.

Regards,
