WLC doesnot see AP on different VLAN

Hi,

I am facing following problem:

On my 3650 switch i created 2 VLANS: - VLAN10 for WLC and VLAN20 for AP's.

On the switch i added following configuration:

interface fastethernet0/11 (for AP)

switchport mode access

switchport access vlan 20

spanning-tree portfast

mls qos trust dscp

interface gigabiteEthernet0/1 (for WLC)

switchport mode trunk

spanning-tree portfast trunk

mls qos trust cos

Now, when i logon to WLC i can wait infinity and non of AP's will join to WLC.

However when i put AP to the same VLAN as WLC than everything is ok.

Can someone please explain me what am i doing wrong ?

You should use DHCP option 43, DNS to advertise your WLC IP to AP in order that to find WLC and register.

If you put onto same subnet, then via L3 broadcast AP find WLC and register.

Read these as well as it may help you to understand different way of AP find WLC.
