Access points keep losing their settings

We have several 5508 controllers and are experiencing similar problems on a few of them. They are working great for any AP that has been active for a while now. The problem is if I add any new AP (2702) or a older factory reset AP (1042). After I configure them, the AP will work but once the AP is rebooted it will drop all its settings and revert to factory default.

If I take a configured and working 1042 that has been online for several months (and rebooted many times) and factory reset it and then reconfigure it with the exact same settings, this problem will then start to happen.

We have been running version 8.1.102 for quite a while now.

Forcing the firmware back out to the affected APs seems to have resolved the issue

AIR-CAP3702E-NK9

Solved changing the name of configuration file:

- In ROMMON mode - (Interrupt bootloader pressing Esc )

ap: set CONFIG_FILE flash:/my_new_config_name.txt

ap: boot

- In IOS -

... do some changes ...

ap> write mem

ap> reload

Done!
