2702-UX-K9 Access Point will not associate with controller.

Hi,

I recently purchased nine new 2702 APs. Two of them will not associate with the controller. I realized they they had a different part number. They ended with UX-K9 instead of -K9 like the others. It turns out that these are new AP that are universal for any country. They APs find the controller but need some sort of password to pull the config down. I"m not sure what this could be?

Hi Rasika,

I did try this but it is still not working. I created the universal SSID as in structed but there is no option to Enable Universal Admin Support when preparing WLC. My 2504 controller is up to date with the OS too, Sotware is 7.6.130 and field Image is 7.6.101.1 Am I missing something here?

I think you required 8.0.x

I think you required 8.0.x code to register -UX domain AP (as per the doc), Try that & see any help

I have the same issue on my home 2504 with these 2700 UX, I have tried code 8.0.100.0, 8.0.110.0 (Docs say this is the min version supported), and even 8.0.115.0 (latest available) still no dice. The AP won't register, and gives the error stated above. I am seeing 2 images available for the AP, the AP shipped with the later image but I AP recovery isn't working because it say's unable to find image with XX in the name? I see the TFTP logs, and name the file accordingly no dice, then the unable to find file name -XX pops up too. As you know I am busy during the day this week, but let's jump on a skype and take a look later maybe you have seen something I haven't?

For good measure, also attempted to join a 3650 here at the house IOS-XE 3.6 no dice, going to try 3.7 too tomorrow, It worked for the 3700 UX AP's we had??

You have to have the radio's enabled, and have a WLAN enabled for example named universal, then under advanced chose Universal AP Admin.

I've received a shipment of 3700 with "-UX" regulatory domain. The AP won't join the controller if it's running 8.0.110.0 (and earlier). I got it work when I upgraded to 8.0.115.0.

I need a little help. I am trying to prime my 2700 AP with the app.

my app is stuck on logging in, although the password is correct because if I enter wrong password it immediately pops wrong password message.

Do I need a service contract or a customer login on cisco.com for the login to work?

can someone try installing cisco airprovision app on their phone and see if the login works with their login please.

You need a valid CCO account to login to the app. You r device also has to have Internet access or else it will eventually fail. I have done this a bunch of time with no issues. Put it this way, you need t be registered and not a guest.

You don't have to have that link. All you need is a valid CCO account which you can create on your own and or tie it to your company. Equipment is typically linked to your company and your CCO is tied to your company. If you can login using your CCO for the Cisco forums, then that is all you need.

well this is our first purchase so the company isnt registered partner with cisco.

I have a CCO account which is what i am using for posting on this forum, but since its a guest cisco account and not customer or partner, i believe that is why it does not login into the app and just stuck at "logging into CCO server"

I have done a bunch of these recently with no issues. I work for CDW and they can help associate the sale to your CCO, but that would be interesting that it would be that. I will have a buddy test this out whom just created a new CCO account to verify.
