Was this ap working before? Your not connecting directly to the ap are you? Try to replace the Ethernet cable, connect it to a different port on the switch and when looking at the console output, find out if the ap is getting an IP address. We need more info here, so post the output if you can some info that would be nice is boot up the access point and capture the output while the AP is connected to the network. Paste this in a text file and attach it. Don't paste it in the post. Also these commands from the console (CLI):

show version

show ip interface brief

show inventory

-Scott

To be honest, the problem can be with the AP itself. The AP can be going bad and will need to be replaced. If you have a support contract, you can open a TAC case and see if you can get an RMA. I don't know if that model is end of support already or not.

Have you you tried to swap injectors with a access point that it is working? I just had an injector I was using go bad, not the AP.

-Scott

This is going to be my LAST response to this thread. It seems my message is NOT getting through.

If you plug the AP to a FastEthernet port the link comes up but if you plug the AP to a GigabitEthernet port the link goes down. This is a known symptom of a cable fault when the third pair is faulty.

Old thread. Same issue. We had a major storm roll through (not common for us here) with periods of high heat and humidity. Four of our 1252APs lost Ethernet functionality. All take PoE from an injector or switch, but the Gig0 port shows up/down. The switch will give it power but it never negotiates a speed. Nothing in the switch logs or console other than power granted messages.

We suspect a power issue killed the four APs. Other APs on the switch and power injectors were not affected.
