We have a Cisco 2500 Series Wireless LAN Controller and several AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 already running.

Today I wanted to add two new access points, but they are AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9.

I understand they should essentially work "out of the box", but they don't:

When they boot, they receive their IP address via DHCP (from the WLC acting as DHCP server), keep blinking green for a minute and then reboot. This repeats forever. (Interesting side-note: Even though they reboot with te same MAC addres, the WLC keeps counting up the DHCP address offered).

The APs are indeed pingable under the address they have (for a minute) and according to nmap only an ftp port is open (it seems they do not differ from the working APs in this).

It virtually seems impossible for the AP to not find the WLC connected to its same LAN. I even activated master controller mode on the WLC, but that didn't help.

What am I missing?
