Just to add... The ap itself can accept up to 254 IIRC. This doesn't mean that you should go this high. Bottom line is that wireless is half duplex and can be compared to a hub. Yes a hub and not a switch. Only one device can tx at a time. If you search the forum, the rule of thumb is 25 clients per AP. now like Najaf mentioned, it depends on the applications that are using your wireless. I had a client that required a 3GB video file to be uploaded to an FTP server in 30 min or less... Well after testing, it was 4-5 clients per AP.

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

Hi Juan,

Having 104 clients doesn't mean AP is collapsed 🙂

Even though 104 clients looks way too high, the AP performance mainly depends on how many data streams or flows are actually happening and what the data type is...

So for example if these 104 clients are communicating only web traffic at random interval then the AP should be able to handle this traffic. But if 5 to 8 cleints are using video then 10 to 15 wireless clients itself will be a too much ask for AP on a "G" radio.

Hope that helps.

Regards

Najaf

Please rate when applicable or helpful !!!
