I am using Cisco aironet client card and Cisco 350AP. The reason I asked this question is web interface is the preferred method for the Cisco AP especially when the AP is mounted and in production. Normally one would interface the AP with its IP address or domain name(if one is assigned) in a web browser. This is not for initial configuration and this is for maintenance and troubleshooting or looking at the system logs for example.

I was wondering whether there would be Secure hyper text transfer protocol transaction(https) between the wireless client and the AP? What about ssh in the same way as an alternative to telnet? Thanks.

For the most secure communication, I would recommend using the 9pin-RJ45 console serial cable to hook a PC/laptop to the AP for initial programming. As for the security issues you mention, what AP and cards are you using?
