Hi,

there's one PCI card for 802.11b, but none for 802.11a.

Anybody knows if CISCO is in the process of introducing the one?

Or it waits till 802.11g is going to be approved in June-July 2003...?

---

Any PCI cards for 802.11a that CISCO recommends??

Thank you much for your help!

So far..802.11a PCI LAN card is "not" in line for future product at this time..

BUT we do have it in PCMCIA form for laptops..that product called CB20A.

If you really want PCI, you need to talk to your account rep. in cisco to push that.

Any wi-fi certified PCI card should work with 802.11a AP's..

Hello

I have an identical query to the one originally posted, however my understanding is that whilst Wi-Fi is aplicable to 802.11b, 802.11a has yet to be standardised regards Wi-Fi5 compliance. Having researched the subject of PCMCIA/PCI adaptors I found that most, like Ciso's own had DMA on the PCI board that effectively made the two boards appear as one and as such only require the single driver. The draw back of this being that the board was then tied in to being 802.11b compliant only.

Has anyone out there tried testing the Aironet 802.11a PCMCIA adaptor with some "bog standard" (British phrase) PCI cradles. If so what were the results? Did any work?
