Thank you so much for your reply. i am going to replace this AP with new one. BTW i am asking an very entry level question. Can i directly remove the old AP and connect new AP to that same port without any configuration for the new AP and WLC. After the new AP is up, I would like to change some info for the new AP via WLC, is that Ok. Thank you.

Hi

I had a similar problem but different AP model. In my case it was hardware problem.

As you say the country is correct for this AP, I suppose this can be a faulty AP as well.As the Operational status is enabled.

-If I helped you somehow, please, rate it as useful.-

Can u provide 2 informational points:

1. Go to the advanced tab on the AP and get a screenshot of Regulatory domains and Country code.

2. Login to the AP CLI and get the output for "show controllers d1".

Hi Manish, Thank you so much for your reply. The below are my answers to your question:

1. Go to the advanced tab on the AP and get a screenshot of Regulatory domains and Country code.

Please see the attached picture.

2. Login to the AP CLI and get the output for "show controllers d1".

I cannot login to the AP at this moment, but I can logon to its WLC. Am i able to logon to the AP via the WLC? or get the info via WLC?

The screenshot looks good to me.

You can run the command "show ap config 802.11a <AP name>" in the WLC.

and also get "show ap eventlog <AP name>" . This should be able to show the actual events on the AP.

I noticed something :

In my AP (3700), the output is like:

Channel Width.............................. 20 Mhz
      Allowed Channel List....................... 36,40,44,48,52,56,60,64,100,
        ......................................... 104,108,112,116,120,124,149,
        ......................................... 153,157,161

Whereas your output shows:

Channel Width.............................. 20 Mhz
Allowed Channel List....................... 3

Why ? Are there other APs on the same WLC which are working fine on 5 GHz radio ? Can yu check , what all channels have you allowed/configured on 5 GHz DCA ? If this AP is in an AP-group , and you have mapped a RF-profile to it, please check the channels allowed in the RF-profile. If all of that is fine, please see if you can replace this AP once. May be a hardware issue in that case.

Cheers,

Manish

Some of info in Allow Channel List are missing. It should be same as yours. Sorry.

We allow all channel go through and no specific AP group. All of other AP are working fine. I am going to replace it for trying. Thank you
