How to disable channels on AP's

We have both 1130 and 3500 AP's under the control of a 5508 controller. I have heard that channel "b" can slow down the other AP channels when in the same vicinity.

We have 1130 with channels a/b and 3500 with channels b/g/n. If this in fact does slow down the other channels, how can one globally change this in the 5508?

Thanks.

Hi,

Please do as advised by other people but please remember this would reduce the cell size and might impact if there was any wireless survey done earlier using low data rates. Second thing is that any client which supports only "b" will not be able to connect (most support b/g though). and third when you disable low data rates namely "b" data rates, Please make sure that at least one higher data rate (above 11 Mbps) is configured as mandatory or else clients would not connect.

Regards

Dhiresh

**Please rate helpful posts**
