Thanks for the response. So it depends on what security config we use on the ssid even though we have different vendor aps to broadcast same ssid with same security, then client device will ssid see only once. Hope this is correct!!

Guys, very basic question - how a client device shows single ssid when there are many aps installed? Example we have corp ssid and 10 aps in the floor. But our laptop/mobile shows only one SSID to connect (which means only one BSSID). on what basis? (best signal strength/OUI)

If i make multiple hotspots on different mobiles for same ssid, then it shows many times the same ssid. How? how client choose to show single SSID once/many times? please advice. Thanks

Hi,

If the two SSID/WLAN are using the same password and encryption mode, then you will see only one name. Your device will see only one wifi. The device will connect to the strongest wifi. You might randomly connect to either of them. Even connecting devices may jump between the networks and not necessarily from the weaker one to the stronger one.

Regards

Dont forget to arte helpful posts

Please also note that in this case the client cannot successfully roam from vendor A AP to vendor B AP and always looses its wireless connection for a few seconds.
