Hello!

Thank You for answer. Now I've installed MobilityExpress image to my AP-1852.

It seems to work, but here is another question - can I use my 1852 as controller and access point at a time? (like a Mikrotik does - you can deploy WIFI template configuration to controller's radio interface).

Thank You for help.

Best regards, Serge

I've bought couple used 1852i Access Points. So, the question is how to obtain MobilityExpress image to run one of them as controller?

Hi,

You should have a CCO credental with power to download the software, this usually requires a service contract.

You can try contact Cisco directly and see what they say.

Hello,

That´s very good!

Yes, you can. Look at Cisco definition:

The AP acting as the WLC is referred to as the master AP while the other APs in the Cisco Mobility Express network, which are managed by this master AP, are referred to as subordinate APs.

In addition to acting as a WLC, the master AP also operates as an AP to serve clients along with the subordinate APs.

Thank You again.

Using controller's web interface I've created WLAN with SSID 'test' and some WPA2 password, set it's admin state to 'enabled' and Radio Policy to 'all'. At web interface's tab 'Access Points' i see one record - AccessPoint marked as Primary Controller, it has both radio interfaces enabled. But i cannot see this SSID from my Laptop or phone.

Could You point me to cisco manuals related to such configuration?

Thank You for help.

Hello!

Thanks for help!

A lot of useful info for me, especially second guide. Actually, it seems to be that the problem was at country selection at initital setup wizard (my AP, by its Product Number, issued for South/Central America, so selected coutry must be from that region).
