topic If at site A your warehouse in Wireless

If at site A your warehouse SSID is placing data on the local subnet at site A, then there is no way to setup APs at site B to connect to your 2504 and place traffic locally on site B using local mode access points. You can setup the APs in site B as FlexConnect and locally switch the warehouse SSID. You would need to use ap groups and crest a duplicate wlan (SSID) but with a different profile. So site A would be on ap group A and site B would be on ap grouo B. The Warehouse SSID that your using now, would be added to ap group A along with your guest SSID the new warehouse SSID that is configured identical to your existing but has a different profile name and has FlexConnect local switching enabled will be assigned to ap group B.

For more reference, please look at the FlexConnect deployment guide to better understand what is FlexConnect and how does it work different from local mode. It's confusing if you have never used it, but can help with many tricky designs.

-Scott

Foreign and anchor controller

Hi all,

I have a question regarding some foreign/anchor controller.

I have 2 site, site A and Site B

On site A I have
- a 2504 configured like a normal WLC. serving clients on AP2702 through SSID Warehouse.
- a 4404 configured as a guest anchor controller for pure guest network (SSID Guests)

On site B I have
- a 4404 configured as anchor controller for the SSID Warehouse on the 2504. Clients on the 2504, must access the Warehouse VLAN on site B.
- The same 4404 is acting as a foreign controller for the Guest network on the 4404 on site A

Will this cause issue? I'm consurned abouth the 2 x EoIP, one in eash direction?

/Finn

Hi Scott,thanks for you reply

Hi Scott,

thanks for you reply.

The Warehouse SSID on site A, is just Anchored on the 4404 Site B (Running EoIP)

The Clients is connected to 2702, but need access to a VLAN only avalible on the Site B. I have only a 4404 on site B, and cant make the 2702 joine. Therefore i created the tunnel.

Its already running. I have connection from the foreign-2504 (using Warehouse SSID) to the Anchour-4404 using Warehouse SSID. Clients gets IP from the VLAN 920, Warehouse SSID and things are working fine... But I'm just a little concerned... because the 4404 on site B, also acting as a foreign WLC for the Guest network on Site A, where i have another Anchor WLC.

I guess its ok for a WLC to be foreign for some SSID, and at the same time Anchor for other SSID

Controllers can be both a

Controllers can be both a foreign and an anchor, that is just tied to the WLAN's to be honest. I have had to do the same setup for customers who have a non-typical design.

-Scott
