how can i get started with the configuration of integrated wireless LAN controller of SUP8-E installed on Cisco 4500 Core switch

You need to have IOS-XE 3.7.0 to support wireless on Sup8-E. Here is the release note for that

I haven't configure any Sup8E for wireless, but having look into this document, there is nothing special compare to any other converged access switch like 3850,3650. ie

1. Define the mobility role (Mobility Agent or Mobility Controller)

2. Define a wireless management interface

3. Configure AP access ports on the same vlan as wireless management vlan.

Hello.

There is one thing that differenciates the wireless on Sup8E (at least what I know so far :)).

You need to have expanded SW image to be able configure and run wireless. On 3850/3650 you can boot the .BIN file, but on Sup8E you need to boot the "packaged.conf" with proper packages.

Software Requirements

The Cisco Catalyst 4500E Series Supervisor Engine 7-E is supported only in Cisco IOS Software and is not supported in the Cisco Catalyst Operating System Software. The minimum software version is as follows:

Can you setup CAT4500E SUP 8-E as an aggregation switch, with CAT2960X as access switch connected to lightweight APs using the SUP on 4500E as the wireless controller. Is that setup possible??
