2112 Controller Cluster

My company has a lot of thier business relying on the wireless network and I am trying to reduce the single points of failulre in my network infrastructure. We have a single Cisco 2112 controller with 10 AP's that I am wondering if it's possible to cluster this with another controller for redundancy purposes? Anyone know if it's even possible and if so, how to do it?

Hi Jeff,

For sure you can configure your controllers like this, however, the 2100 is now end-of-sale.

The replacement for it is the WLC 2504 and you can see more about WLC failover here:

What do you mean "cluster"? You mean a high-availability (HA) pair with another? Not with the 2100. You might with the 5508 and possibly the 2500. Take note as I posted "might" because this is pending on the release of a new code within this year.

You can, however, have two options:

1. You can have a second WLC; or

2. Enable H-REAP (now known as FlexConnect).

I already have one 2112 that's why I want to stick with clustering it. Can the 2504 be clustered (failover) with a 2112?
