RF prediction for AP

Hi all,

I'm testing Cisco Prime with MSE for monitoring wireless clients in my infrastructure. I have a building with two floor, and I assign the APs to the floors. Seeing the RF prediction, I can't see the RF signal propagation of an AP on the first floor to the second one.

Is it possible to do it?

Thanks

You will only see the RF prediction on a given floor. RF bleed through will not be shown.

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

Thank you for the response Scott.

And what about the wireless client using an AP on a different floor? I see that client on the AP floor, but I don't like it so much.

If you have a client that Simon the 1st floor and associated to an AP on the 2nd floor, the client will show up on the 2nd floor. This is normal as how would the WLC or Prime know that info? When you have a normal install you would typically have more APs, so the percentage of a client to associate to an Ap in an adjacent floor is much less. This is why a good site survey is key.

Hope this helps you understand what you are seeing.

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

I agree. Now I also notes that clients on second floor and associated to an ap on this floor are mapped on the first floor..
