CT2504 adder license Smartnet coverage needed?

If I purchase an adder license for a CT2504 controller (L-LIC-CT2504-UPG>L-LIC-CT2504-1A), does Smartnet service need to be purchase for each adder license as well?

For example: We already have an air-ct2504-5-k9, which has service on the hardware, and we need an adder license so we're getting L-LIC-CT2504-UPG>L-LIC-CT2504-1A. There is a SKU for CON-OSP-LLICCT1A, is this necessary for the adder licenses or will the controllers coverage take care of that? In CCW there use to be the option to add the maintenance directly on the license SKU, but it does not seem to be available anymore (Only as a separate SKU).

It works on the honor system. Your smartnet current agreement, if in good standing with Cisco, will open cases and get your software downloads. However you are suppose to purchase smartnet for each adder license.
