Your AP has booted up fine (except for the radio not working). Using XModem is slow and you're not going to fix anything because XModem you'll be downloading the BIN file.

Boot the AP normally and use the method I've posted above.

I found what my problem is. I downloaded the firmware but it was in a .tar archive. so i opened up the archive and only copied the ios image, not the radio firmware and a few other drivers/files....so my question is how can i copy the entire .tar archive using xmodem to the AP and have it extract on its own? Or do I need to copy each file individually and do mkdir on the flash to create it?

Thanks for the help

*Mar 1 00:00:16.020: %DOT11-2-NO_FIRMWARE: Interface Dot11Radio0, no radio firmware file (flash:/8001.img) was found

This is the reason why your 802.11b radio won't come up. The radio-specific firmware is missing.

Most effective way is to overwrite and unpack the entire TAR file. So let the AP boot normally. Don't worry about the radio for the time being.

Make sure you have the TAR file located in the correct folder of your TFTP server. Use the command "archive download-sw /over /force tftp://<TFTP IP address>/filename.tar".

Once the process is complete the AP will reboot.

Your AP has booted up fine

Your AP has booted up fine (except for the radio not working). Using XModem is slow and you're not going to fix anything because XModem you'll be downloading the BIN file.

Boot the AP normally and use the method I've posted above.

Upgrade the firmware from your WLController, reboot it. You'll get rid of it.
