Typically AP will get IP address and WLC IP address info from DHCP (via IP helper address here). Then AP just need L3 connectivity to communicate with WLC. It establish a CAPWAP tunnel with WLC.

Hope it helps!

Hi Sherrikhan,
There are two communication:
1. AP to WLC via CAPWAP
2. WLC to core(switch)/infrastructure.
for 2 you need to create user vlans on wlc as well as on switch.
In case of Vlan subnet change, you need to update client subent but for AP vlan creation is not required.
