Is there a way to get notified when a specific rogue SSID is detected on the network using the 5508 controller? If not, could this be done if we were running WCS?

it depends on what else you are doing.

Generally I would say this would happen with NCS/WCS. WLC will send a trap to WCS, and from there the notificaiton would go out.

You coudl probably do the same from a syslog, but then you would have to write something to parse the file, and find the specific entry you wanted, and then have the script/job alert you.
