We are looking to upupgrade from our standalone 1130 series AP's to a Cisco 2504 wireless lan controller and the Cisco LWAPP 2600 series AP's. Currently we have the 1130 AP's connected to a 10/100 3560 POE switch. We also have a 2960 10\100\1000 non-POE switch.

Will the 11n wireless work connected to the 10\100 3560 POE switch? Or will we need to get a 10\100\1000 POE switch? Would a cheaper solution be to get power injectors for 2600 AP's to connect to the 2960 10\100\1000 switch?

You can still connect the APs up to. 10/100 PoE switch. The only thing is the switch port will be the bottleneck. With 802.11n the client will have more throughput and you will need to make sure you don't oversubscribe the Ethernet port.

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

Also remember that in order to reach the 802.11n data rates you need to have WPA2 enabled on the SSID. No mater if you are using PSK (WPA personal) or 802.1x (WPA Enterprise). So make sure that WPA 2 with AESis enabled on your WLAN.

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App
