Wireless network design

We have a site with one WLC 4400 managing multiple AP1130,connected through Layer 2 D-link switches to Cisco router. We are thinking to have one SSID for internal users (get public IPs from Windows server) and another SSID for external users (using internal IPs either from windows server or WLC internal as we don't have neough public ip now). Is it posible if we don't want to add any layer3 devices?

You can have multiple WLANs but if the switch and router at the site don't support trunking and VLANs you would be able to separate the traffic from the different WLANs.

which part network need support trunking - between AP and WLC, WLC and Router, or both?

AP to switch can either be trunk or access.

WLC to switch and Router to switch requires trunk, specifically Dot1Q.

You will need Layer3 setup as 1131 does not support layer2 connectivity.

My understanding is as long as the switches (don't have to be layer 3 switches) bewteen WLC and router support trunking/vlan, I can use sub-interface in router to route out, correct?

Yes if you create a sub-interface on the router that will work fine.

Cisco recommends that LWAPP access points be terminated as access port not .q.

You can still place the AP's on an access port then trunk the switch to the router using the sub-interface for Layer 3 connectivity.
