Hi all,

I'm wondering if Cisco offers a comparable feature to the below from SonicWall?

"...High-speed secure wireless access combined with high performance Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection™ technology. SonicWall Clean Wireless can encrypt and decontaminate wireless traffic and protect your network from wireless intrusion attacks."

Hope you can help.

Thanks!

Well, if you read from Marketing slides, you are going for a disappointment.

Cisco Wireless hardware doesn't do packet inspections. That is left for dedicated devices like firewalls.

I'm puzzled when they say that SonicWall can encrypt traffic .. isn't wireless traffic already encrypted at the source ?

"decontaminate" indicates they act like an anti-virus, which cisco doesn't do either.

However, I'm confident that the WLC physical wireless intrusion detection is more efficient since it works on the physical layer.

What they provide seems more like a firewall product that is placed on top.

Thanks for your reply. I guess yeah I'm looking to compare marketing propaganda from one to another.

I'm sure Cisco is capible of offering comparible (or better) solutions.

Cheers!
