Unable to assign static IP on AIR-LAP1262N-E-K9

We recently procured the above mentioned AP but I am unable to go to the "config t" mode so that I can assign the IP address. I want to deploy this on my network as an AP and I read somewhere that I will need to upgrade the IOS to another version. Can some body assist with instructions on where to get the new image (and name) and how to proceed with the upgrade. Thanks

The AP you have is a lightweight access point... "LAP". This requires a WLC.

If you wanted a standalone/autonomous AP, the model designation is "SAP".

What you have to do if you want to convert this to autonomous is download the autonomous image, which you will need a support contract and follow one of these conversion process examples.
