AIR-SAP2602i-N-K9 is the PID for you, in case you want antonomous. SAP = Standalone/Ios

AIR-CAP2602i-N-K9 is the part id for unified access point intended to be used in CUWN/CA.

SAP means Standalone.

CAP means Controller .

But it doesn't matter if you ordered the wrong one because it is very easy to convert the AP from SAP to CAP and vice versa.

Actually, it is. I just set a "trap" to see if someone's going to do a cut-n-paste. Looks like the trap caught one.

Is it possible to change the PID?

I have two AP, both running on autonomous IOS image 15.2(2)JB2.

AIR-SAP2602I-E-K9

AIR-CAP3602I-E-K9

Now when i want to add both to Prime Infrastructure 1.4, only the SAP is discovered correctly. The CAP is mistakenly discovered as unified AP. I think its because auf the PID.

Can anyone confirm?

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Can I convert SAP-2600 to controller-based mode ?

Converting from autonomous IOS to controllerb-based IOS is very easy.

All you need is to un-pack the RCV file (TAR file extension) into the AP and reboot the AP. The AP will now boot up with controller-based IOS.
