Wcs ncs I one way or manually pull it with tftp.

As for the MAC address, I'm speaking to the mobility group specifically.

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

All,

How do I backup and restore the config in a WiSM? I thought this would be easy to lookup, but so far no joy!

I assume I just shut the module down, pull it out, push the new (with the chassis still up) it's just the backup/restore I'm unsure on.

Cheers!

Hi James,

If you have WCS / NCS and you back up the config in a normal scheduled task. If you dont, you would go to commands and download / upload the 'config'

Yes. Shut power, pull out. Put new blade in and turn on. Double check the etherchannels and load the code. Also rememeber to add the new controller in the mobility group of the old / existing controllers, as the MAC is different.

Certificates and web pages arent copyed when you do the config. So if you will need to update these if needed onto the new controller.

__________________________________________________________________________________________
"Satisfaction does not come from knowing the solution, it comes from knowing why." - Rosalind Franklin
__________________________________________________________________________________________
‎"I'm in a serious relationship with my Wi-Fi.

So, if there's WCS/NCS simply replacing the physical unit and updating to WCS to know of the new MAC that's it and a restore can be performed from teh WCS?

I assume when you say double check the etherchannels those are the channels the chassis uses to reach the card and if that was working before it would be OK now?

I had assumed (totally new to this) there would be some config on the WiSM itself I would have to update via the console port first.
