I have two 1310 bridges, point to point, aprox 2.5 miles, clear line of sight. During heavy fog the link goes down and does not come back up.

I noticed the speed setting was set to

speed basic-1.0 basic-2.0 basic-5.5 basic-11.0

(speeds above 11.0 never worked so that's the highest I set the speed to)

I also see you can set the speed to just plain

1.0 2.0 5.5 11.0

What's the difference between the basic-<speed> setting and the setting without the basic- prefix?

the "basic" speeds are the required speeds a client must support to be able to connect to the device. All others are considered "supported", meaning if we can negotiate to them, great! if not, then that's ok too.
