topic 1231 won't connect in Wireless

I have a linksys wireless WRT54G setup as follows:

Static IP Internal: 192.168.1.1

Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Static IP Internet: 10.0.0.2

Subnet 255.0.0.0

Gateway 10.0.0.1

My device, a desktop, is setup as follows:

Static IP: 192.168.1.100

Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Gateway:192.168.1.1

My AP is setup as follows:

Static IP: 10.0.0.1

Subnet: 255.0.0.0

From my PC I can ping the internal and external addresses on the linksys but cannot reach the AP (a 1231). I have tried wireless and hardwired connections from the PC to the linksys. I believe I saw the Linksys talk to the AP one time only.

I have attached an MS-Word Doc with a drawing, including some settings, of my test-bed as it appears now. This is setup in a lab, but I need to deploy soon.

I am using the Linksys as a collection point in one building to network a number of hard wired and wirerless devices (about 10). Is there a more "standard" configuration that might be better.

I know I still need to work on the other side, but am trying to get this link going first.

I was also wondering about mounting the WAP outdoors is this recommended or feasible? Not 100% necessary, but if I can place this outdoors I believe I can get a stronger connection...

Thanks for any help...
