I have several clients that conect up on 802.11n that are running at 7mbps. Cisco seems to think that it is because the clients are running a single spatial. Why would a client connect to N if it has only one antenna when it could be faster with just 802.11 a/b/g?

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

It seems you have configured both G and N on the same 2.4 radio which is degrading the performance.

you shpuld be searching for some access point which only support N radio. Configuring both b/g/N or a/N on the same radio or channel degrades the performance eve if the client is only N.

Its what the client and the AP negotiates as. Clients will always try to connect to 802.11n rather than a/g. Thats just how client devices seem to work. You can disable 802.11n, but if your client isn't negotiating properly or is negotiating at a lower data rate, you will still be running low.

Thanks,

Scott

Help out other by using the rating system and marking answered questions as "Answered"
