topic Why would you enable "radius server overwrite interface" function? in Wireless

I know what it does, it uses the IP address of the dynamic interface associated with the WLAN as the source instead of the management interface, but due to my lack of experience in the wireless field, I was wondering why would you use that feature?

I would appreciate your help!

In certain cases, there may be a requirement to send those RADIUS packets sourcing from dynamic interface IP instead of mgt. In this way your RADIUS server can have different IP addresses for NAD (Network Access Device) depend on which SSID is related to Auth request.

Another reason could be a firewall between the RADIUS server and WLC, and your WLC management IP is not allowed to communicate with RADIUS, however, those dynamic interface IP range is.

HTH
