Yes, sure you can use WDS. Detecting rogue AP is one of functions of WDS. WDS consists of only IOS APs, no clients are involved.

Hi,

We are using Cisco 1200 series IOS based access points. On the client side we have a mix of Cisco,Intel, etc wireless cards. PEAP is being used for authentication and TKIP as encryption.

In this scenario

1. Can we use WDS for rogue AP detection ?

2. Can WDS be used for some other advantage under this scenario ?

Regards,

Naman

Trivial question: How do you setup a 1200 to use WDS for rogue AP detection? I have WDS enabled, but it's not reporting any of the AP's I have running.
