Hi,

In our campus, we're using 2 WLC 5508 with 8.2.141.0 firmware... 3 months ago, we installed 50 aironet 2800i..

we've followed the best pratices for the configuration and for the 5Ghz radio we've set the channel width to "best" (auto 20 - 40 or 80 MHz) on all APs

but when an AP is using the channel width of 80 Mhz, some Lenovo's laptop cannot see sometimes SSID or when they arrive to connect, they lose a lot of packets and the connection's speed is very slow.... We have this problem with a Lenovo T440p and a Lenovo Yoga 12 ... But I met also this problem with the wifi tool "AirCheck g1" from Netscout (formerly Fluke Networks).

I have the impression that some devices cannot operate correctly with an ap whose 5Ghz radio works on a channel width of 80mHz.

Have anybody already met these problems when the radio works with 80MHz channel width ?

thanks

Sam

oups, sorry, I think that I found the problem:

Two issues here, bad Intel

Two issues here, bad Intel drivers and bugs in the 2802i platform.

The later you can fix with the latest 8.2.151.0 WLC code. The Intel issues can be fixed by installing the Intel Driver package 19.40 or later (actually 19.30, but 19.40 contains a fix for Cisco 1142 APs).
