topic Personally I think that the 8 in Wireless

Personally I think that the 8.0.115 is the worst release in the 8.0 train so far. I have 8.0.110 running for some customers without any big problems (in conjunction with the vWLC and 2700 and 1700 AP's).

In your case you have a 5508 which is effected with some nasty reboot bug. So if you decide to run 8.0 code on your 5508, I would advice you to contact TAC and ask for a special engineering release where that bug has been fixed.

5508 - 7.6.130 FUS and 8.0.115 (8 unstable)

Hi Guys,

I recently upgraded a 5508 WLC on v7.0 code to 7.6.130 and then proceeded to to do the FUS image. v7.6.130 works without issue but upgrading to 8.0.115 causes a variety of issues.

We noticed yesterday post v8 that the WLC would reboot without warning after changing of a minor config aspect such as creating or amending an interface. We've had to downgrade to 7.6.130 (which has been stable since) as a result of this but have a couple of 1700 APs to deploy which require v8 code.

Interesting, the FUS hasn't upgraded the backup software version which is 6.0.182.0.

Any ideas or suggestions before i log a TAC case?

Cheers,

N
