Web auth issue

Hi folks

I recently upgraded WLC 5508 from software version 7.0.220 to 7.2.111.

For guest access, I have Web authentication set up, which used to work fine. Now when I want to go to an external non secure web site , I am presented with web auth page from WLC and all works as usual but if I want to go to a secure web site, I don't get the web auth page. It's just blank. No response from WLC. Packet capture shows that it sends a FIN and closes TCP connection. Any ideas?

Well for the initial page, it has to be http not https. It's has always been that way. If the homepage is a secure site, WebAuth will fail to present the page.

It always has been. The WLC intercepts the page and tries to resolve the page prior to presenting the WebAuth page. Secure sites fail.
